Dude you have awesome art, say how do you make that texture using Stippling? I've tried it but I always get wrong. Does there have to be some special pattern to it?
LC-creations Featured By Owner Dec 15, 2016  Professional Traditional Artist
Not at all! It's cross hatching. Never did stippling. Don't even do it, too much of a headache and too much hard work. Cross hatching is just lines you use for shading and it gives that texture, you just go with straight lines and if you want certain areas more shaded, you add more line over them, crossed, that's cross hatching.

Hi I was wondering if you could give me some advice on drawing metal parts en such stuff like you do. And how to come over the fear of ruining an art piece ?

Thanks for reading
LC-creations Featured By Owner Oct 23, 2016  Professional Traditional Artist
Hey! Well drawing mechanical parts, robots and stuff like that is harder than the rest and I'm not that good at it either so I'm not in a good position to give advices about it but what I can say is that it requires more practice and work, make the basic shape of it and then make all the little parts bind together, like they would work, like they look legit and think about how will it work if it moves and use reference from mechanical stuff or see how the big artists do it and inspire yourself. In stuff like that there are hoses, wires, screws, pistons and metal plates that come over it and you give that a nice shape/ design, just like an arm that has all the little mech stuff that make it work and metal parts on it that have the shapes of the arm parts/ muscles, stuff like that!

For that type of fear is just to not think about it and do it, you don't need to make a piece perfect, you need to make it complete! You want to make it too good and that's where you screw up and alot of errors appear. There will be alot more that you will do so that one that you are working on is not that important, you learn more from that one, it's practice. Make alot of loose sketches, get the shapes right, proportions, pose, you learn alot from that! And then just finish it, outline everything, add some details, shading. The more you draw the more you learn and at the end there will be mistakes in it but you have finished it! and the more pieces you make in time you won't do the same mistakes and you won't think about ruining it and if you do, you just start more sketches again because you are better then, faster!

I hope all of this helps! Hi!

Nice gallery mate! I love your pictures. They are so intricately detailed and confident.^^ Definitely gonna watch!

Btw, if I may ask, what kind of markers/inks do you usually use :) ?
LC-creations Featured By Owner Oct 10, 2016  Professional Traditional Artist
Thank you very much!!! Really appreciate that!

Well I use spectrum noir markers, also copics. For inks I use everything from sakura: microns all sizes, pigma ones, brush pens and Copic multiliners.

Don't feel bad about your art, love it as it is because that's the most you can do now! Make finished pieces instead of starting many and not completing anything. Don't just wish you were like all the big and cool artists we know, be like them! That all takes practice and lots of it and it is all done in time, in time you will see lots of progress in your art because of hard work and practice!
